The 2nd round of the Irish Gravity Enduro Series was held in Ballinastoe, Co Wicklow. The last time I had ridden here was 2-3 years ago and I was looking forward to being back. I had heard that the trails had a good mix of pedaling, flowy single track and technical woods which suited my skill set.
I was racing the event blind as I was not able to make it down fr practice on the Saturday however I was very excited as I really enjoy riding trails blind and believe it is would make for a great racing format if no one was aloud practice prior to racing.
Racing went well for me and I had a very consistent day, I put in solid times on the 1st 3 stages however had a crash on stage 4 and 5 which resulted in me coming 5th overall only 16 seconds off 3rd place. I was happy with this considering the crashes that I had and not getting any practice on the track the day previously. The 5th place finish overall had put me in 2nd place in the series overall behind Vitus rider Daniel Wolfe.
